What is Electric Steam Boiler – ESN Series

Hi-Therm Non-IBR Electric Steam Boiler ESN series is a packaged compact steam generator for low-pressure industrial process heating, pilot plants, labs and various other applications.

 Hi-Therm electric steam boiler series employs immersion heating elements as the heating media. Unlike conventional fuel-fired steam boilers which burn coal, diesel or gas to generate steam, the electric steam boiler delivers a cleaner, safer and high efficiency alternative for steam-based heating applications.

It comprises an insulated pressure vessel with SS heating elements, feed water pump, water level controller, pressure and temperature controllers, steam valves, safety valves, drain valves and electrical accessories. All these components are packaged together in a common enclosure, prewired, mechanically complete and tested making it ready-for-operation.

ELECTRIC STEAM BOILER – CONSTRUCTION & OPERATION

The ESN series electric steam boilers have a sturdy construction with SS304 MOC pressure vessels and industrial grade, heavy duty SS316 MOC immersion heating elements. The outer cabinet is available in MS powder coated sheets or SS304 sheets as per requirement. The pressure vessels are designed for 1.5x rated working pressure as per standard engineering practices and are subjected to hydrostatic pressure test under a quality control inspection to ensure strength and no leaks.

 

Hi-Therm’s microprocessor based Level-Eye water level controller makes the boiler fully automatic and ensures safe operating conditions for the heating elements.

It uses the feedback from the high/low level probes in the pressure vessel to monitor the water level and automatically turns on/off the feed water pump and the heaters, thus ensuring optimal water level in the vessel at all times. The Boiler starts generating steam at a mere turn of a switch and requires little to no attention once it has achieved full pressure steam.
